Burnout recovery program

Burnout is an increasingly common challenge in today’s fast-paced world, affecting nearly 1 in 5 employees in the Netherlands. The symptoms (chronic fatigue, physical discomfort, emotional exhaustion) can leave people feeling overwhelmed, just when accessing support feels most difficult.

At SOLEA, we believe that recovery begins with reconnecting to the body. While psychological care, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is essential, we also recognize the need for immediate, hands-on support through bodywork. When your energy is depleted, what you need most is a gentle hand to lift you—without having to do anything yourself.

This program offers a space to fully surrender, to quiet the mind, and to receive nourishment through the healing power of Thai Yoga Massage, a blend of acupressure and yoga-inspired stretching. Our monthly program offers a safe, welcoming environment to rest, recharge, and rebuild resilience—one breath, one touch at a time. You can partecipate for one month or stay with us for a longer period of time.

What some of our participants said

Max (34 years old)
"I came to Amsterdam at 31 and lived a great life. After a while though, I got into a very stressful loop that I could not get out of. These circumstances led to an almost permanently activated nervous system, even though I am known to be a very calm person. This led to  issues in my life - socially and workwise. I tried many things, mostly expressing and talking about my issues. I got lucky when this program found me and I joined. I noticed the human touch and peaceful, trustful environment the teachers created helped me calm my nervous system and even released some emotions that were stuck deeply. After the sessions I had more of a centered feeling which carried on to the next few days. I found myself looking forward to the next session. After one month, this has helped me in a way that created space in my personal life so I could focus better on what was needed in that moment. Now, looking back, I progressed more than I could imagine starting the program. If anything resonates or you feel stuck with yourself in any way, I totally recommend giving this program a try. No need to talk, I let my body feel and heal with careful touch. It really helped me to re-energize!"
Marleine (28)
"My name is Marleine and I am 28 years old. I have been struggling with a burnout for almost two years now. I have been doing somatic work for over a year, on my own. I felt tiny changes but nothing major yet. I was so happy to join the Burnout Recovery Program. It felt so good to do nervous system healing in a group setting, with people who understand you and can guide you in your experience. I felt so safe and supported and I have noticed that my body is starting to feel more safe! I am eternally grateful and will recommend this to everyone!"
Damir (43)
"I stopped counting the years and months I’ve been dragging myself through hell and back with my burnout and sheer struggle to survive. And even though I’m not religious, the Burnout Recovery Program came like a gift from heaven.
I’ve noticed through myself and also sharing with other participants that many times we keep suppressing emotions, and past trauma in order to perform well in our lives, career and relationships. Collectively we keep forgetting how important it is to have a quiet time, and space to feel your own body. To take time to slow down your breath, and allow your conscious mind to process the physical and emotional sensations while awake but relaxed.
I’ve realized that more than any talk therapy, psychological counseling, and especially the new-age toxic positivity have maybe helping to some extent. But being able to relax, and just be present without judgement is really the most important part of self healing. When I’m alone, distracted by work and daily life, I can hardly relax by myself.
Resonating with a few people in the group, as well as being touched by another human, letting your body just go soft and heavy while they’re moving you around. It builds a sense of safety, calmness and trust that our mind and body need to just allow ourselves to relax again. I personally believe that therapeutic massages should be included in any type of mental health treatment to begin with. And then talking, and other methods that may be borderline brainwashing instead of actually transforming the root causes of the trauma and pain still stuck within the body, and the subconscious.
This Burnout Recovery program was short, yet more effective than anything else I’ve tried with help of others before. Fact is that we have to do all the work ourselves, but when doing it together with others who have gone through the process is what helps the most.
Sometimes letting yourself go is the best course of action. Sometimes taking a break and resting is the most necessary act in order to make progress in life, as well as remain stable and happy.
I’m very grateful for this experience and strongly recommend any individual, and mostly the experts, to start integrating these habits into a regular practice. The world needs healing and we heal together as one. "
